Here's what the humans have to say about me:
URGENT NY/CT/NJ Lab lovers!! Georgia, aka GG, needs a home NOW!!! She is a gorgeous affectionate black lab who is almost 2 years old and weighs 65 lbs. Georgia's foster mom says "she is really sweet and a lot of fun. She plays well with other dogs. She barks when people come into the house but she’s very friendly. She is very good in the crate. She’s a great dog."
Georgia loves people and is a very snuggly sweet girl! She gets along with all dogs outside the home. But inside the home she does best with male dogs her size or bigger. No Cats, small dogs, female dogs or toddlers. Georgia is housetrained, walks beautifully on a leash, loves the beach, car rides & cuddling with her humans. She is super smart and knows “place, sit, down, stay, and heel.
We require adopters to have a safe and secure backyard with a physical fence. We don’t adopt to properties with only electric or Fido fences as they are not nearly as safe for the dog.
The adoption fee is $500. Georgia is spayed, up to date on shots and microchipped.

After the application has been completed and approved we arrange for potential adopters to meet our pups and dogs in their foster homes. We also occasionally have adoption events which are listed on our Facebook Page.

More about this rescue
Gimme Shelter Animal Rescue is a 501c3 nonprofit organization based on Long Island NY. We rescue dogs and puppies who are at risk of being euthanized in high-kill facilities across the South. Every animal we rescue is quarantined where they get vaccinated and given any medical attention needed to get them healthy. We then transport the animals up to NY where they go into our wonderful foster homes until we find them all pre screened loving forever homes. We will adopt out-of-state on a case by case basis, including, but not limited to, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Pennsylvania.
Our goal is to find the best possible homes for our animals, to ensure a life-long loving commitment. We are dedicated to the well-being of our animals. One by One until there are none!
