MAY 2024: TEDDY is currently a big 20# boy, similar to the standard size 300+ years ago when the breed was first established; he could stand to lose up to 5# & should be able to do this with good walks & high quality food, as he is not a big eater and is VERY people-oriented. Teddy LOVES to gnaw on small beef kneecaps from Chewy.com; he would adore being a lapdog, but is very polite about asking permission to hop into an occupied chair or his person’s bed at night—where he wants to cuddle close on top of the covers. Teddy gets along with other dogs, but will grumble when they get into his bowl or try to steal his kneecap (even when others have their own bones!). He would do well in a family with older children and/or perhaps a stay-at-home grandparent to keep company with; he is a good watchdog while not being overly vocal.
