Handshake? No thanks, I prefer to kiss hello after a long day, or you know, ten whole minutes away from Mom. That's Sage. She's a 4 year old mix, with some Labrador, Dachshund, and Pitbull we presume. Sage loves sleeping, belly pats, and hanging with her person/people. She's great with my toddler son, mostly thinks he's her puppy and a new person to kiss and lay around with. She currently does well with the other dogs in the house - likes to play, curl up in one bed no matter how many are available, and will eat side-by-side, but prefers to lead the dog parade on walks. She'd also do well as an only dog because that would mean more cuddles for her. Sage was originally adopted from the pound three years ago, so early life is a question mark, but she's had some nervous tendencies with new people and situations. Not aggressive, just vocal. But once she's comfortable with you, you're into the most special VIP club imaginable - her heart and she'll happily be your shadow. For the last three years, she's been with a loving family that included multiple people, other dogs, and a baby/toddler. Rehoming because family situation has changed drastically - Dad passed away so Mom's going to work full-time and moving to a small apartment. Sage is housetrained, leash trained, and up to date on vaccinations.
Sage is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.

We are a foster/volunteer based 501c3 nonprofit dog rescue in Dallas, Texas. Our mission is to reduce the number of homeless pit bull type dogs in shelters and on the streets through rescue, rehabilitation, education, and advocacy.
Our goal is to educate the public about a breed that often falls victim to breed specific legislation, discrimination, and cruelty and promote responsible pet ownership through spay/neuter initiatives, vaccinations, and training resources.
