My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking at beautiful me, you might never guess my early life started out a little rough on the streets of Salt Lake City. Well, unless you look closer. During my early life, my tail got broken somehow. It has fully healed up with a permanent kink that does not bother me and makes me unique. I also have a left ear tip to show I came from an outdoor colony. I take that as a mark of pride for overcoming my rough start. I am now such a sweet, soft, fun-loving, playful and acrobatic kitten. In between rounds of playtime I am super chill and love napping in cozy cat beds. If I say so myself, I have made up for a my early life experiences quickly. Positive interactions with humans started when I was already a couple months old so just might take me a little longer to warm up to new people and feel safe. I promise once I do, I will be your loyal, fun, happy companion. I love being petted and I have a big purr. I would like to be adopted into a home with another cat or kitten(s). Or consider adopting me with my friend Cassiopeia! I get along with adult cats and small dogs. I have not met any big dogs yet but if they are good with cats, I am probably just fine with them. It would be best if my new home is adults- or families with older children-only as I am not used to being around small humans. Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
