My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing your friendly neighborhood Spider cat! Hi, my name is Spiderman. My foster people named me before they knew I was a girl because of the way I climbed on the ceiling of the kennel in the first days after I was rescued, and because of my winning superhero charm. They call me “Spidey” for short. I am the most adventurous and gregarious of my siblings-- they say I have that “main character” energy. Some of my superpowers include twirling on the floor to request pets and “making biscuits'' standing up. I am so talented. I’m ready to save your day with my goofy antics, affectionate purr-sonality, big round eyes, and jet black fur.

My favorite things are tube cat treats (which we call “friend tubes” around here), batting a worm on a string, and curling up in your lap while you work on the computer. I am a good luck charm for PC gamers. With me at your side you can’t lose! Unless I am so cute that you get distracted. With great adorableness comes great responsibility.

We were born outside and found by our foster people when we were 8 weeks old. My foster people believed we deserved a shot at a lush, safe, indoor life so with patience we have learned that people can be trusted and all about the luxuries of being pampered house cats. I am proud to say I was the first to come around to the idea. I have not met any dogs yet, so I don’t know how I’d feel about them, but if your dog is patient and we can be introduced slowly, I’d probably warm up to them. As far as other cats go, I’d love to have a playmate. My brother Miles is my partner in crime and best friend. Two kittens are better than one!

I am fully vetted, fixed, chipped, and after a long journey all I need now is to find my super person somewhere on the interwebs. Could it be you?

More about this rescue

St. Louis Pet Rescue is a non-profit rescue group focusing on saving pets from local animal control facilities and other neglect situations.

We do not have a facility. All of the pets we rescue are in loving foster homes. Foster homes provide love, care training, and, if needed, rehabilitation to the pets. This also allows the pet to be more adjusted when they enter their forever home since they are used to a home environment (versus a kennel at the pound).
