My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hershey loves to play hard with his friends, but also likes to spend a lot of time inside with his human. I call him Hershey kisses, because he is so gentle and loving. He can be a little toy possessive and is an aggressive chewer so for at least the first 3 months he should not be able to roam freely in the house and any areas that he has access to should be dog proofed. Special care should be given with power cords. He is crate trained so would be best in her crate when no one is home supervising. Unknown how he is with cats or kids. Neutered, microchipped and fully vetted.

More about this rescue

I have been rescuing dogs for many years, but just recently started getting more officially involved. It started with a rescue last year, Michael. He was being tethered to a trailer in the back yard 24/7 in the extreme summer heat and horrible thunderstorms. Animal Services were full so they were not doing much so I worked with the family for about a month before I was able to get them to surrender him to me. I wasn't able to keep him due to his size so I found him a wonderful home. That really inspired me and not long after I was given the opportunity to rescue 2 dogs from really deplorable conditions and again, due to size, had to adopt one out. He went to a wonderful home in Missouri. I was able to keep his senior mom. She has been through enough in her life I did not want to put her through another transition. That is the sanctuary part of the organization. So now I would like to put up some more fencing and make some other modifications to that I can take in a few more dogs and hopfully find them wonderful homes as well so I can continue to help more. There are so many in need. Shelters and rescues all seem to be full and there is a shortage of fosters available. I would love to team up with some amazing people who can assist me so we can provide help for even more.
