My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We are located in Lancaster, PA. We have a Boston Terrier (our second) that we adopted from a SPCA in northern PA in October 2023. Canelo was in the shelter with 60 other dogs and surrendered by an owner who did not speak English - so no backstory. He was super friendly with me (female) and the handler (female). He is a young dog (2 years or so).
Canelo is very reactive to men and strangers. He will not stop barking at my husband and gets super aggressive and tries to bite him if I he gets close to me. My husband loves all animals and would not hurt a fly, so we think there is definitely some trauma in his background. My guess would be that he was a witness to domestic abuse. We have worked with a trainer to mitigate the behavior, but with no luck. He just will not accept my husband being in the house.
Canelo needs a female household with no children – he is super sweet with me. He’s a cuddle bug! He loves to play fetch. No cats or dogs. High energy dog - needs a yard. Will vet.
