Paisley is true to her terrier DNA - sassy, charismatic, and full of puppy energy! She's weighs 10 pounds and would love to be your consistent companion. Paisley needs an experienced dog owner who is home and who will help build her confidence and and work on her independence.
Let me tell you what is special about Paisley. She is a very busy 12-month puppy who wants nothing more than to adore you and please you. She loves cuddling and sleeping right next to you. She responds well to her name. She is very smart and picks up on training fast, just bring cookies! She plays well with other dogs and likes squeaky toys. She would do best in a household with another dominant dog; she is OK with cats. She may only be 10 pounds, but she is confident and sure of herself. She loves to walk; we go on a 3-mile walk every other day. She walks well, doesn't bark and loves greeting other dogs and people along the way. I do use a front latching harness because she tends to pull, I call it 'sled-dogging'. If you are active and want to take her hunting or do agility, she would love that. Paisley came to me as a foster. I identified quickly that she had separation anxiety. I I worked with her for 12-weeks with a Certified Separation Anxiety Trainer (CSAT) through Malena DeMartini (Separation Anxiety Training Certificate Program - Malena DeMartini) for intensive desensitization. It has worked well but she will need additional reinforcement to maintain and improve on her success. She has stayed with my son, although I have not left her all day or overnight. She has been prescribed medications for her that have helped with her anxiety. In addition, she has had some basic obedience training. She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her immunizations. She is housebroken and uses a dog door.
Please give Paisley a chance. If you are the right person, she will bring you tons of love, joy, and
laughs.

More about this rescue
The Milo Foundation is an established 501(c)(3) nonprofit, no-kill organization providing an alternative for homeless pets throughout California, through education, adoption services, and providing sanctuary for animals until permanent homes can be found.
Founded in August of 1994, The Milo Foundation Sanctuary is located on two hundred and eighty-three acres in Mendocino County - offering lots of room for the animals to run and play. The Milo Sanctuary animals typically (but not exclusively) are harder to adopt animals and those needing more rural type homes, such as dogs with social or behavioural challenges, feral cats, horses and other farm animals. The Milo Point Richmond Adoption Center is where the majority of our new rescue intake takes place, typically friendly, adoptable cats and dogs, puppies and kittens rescued from shelters where they were facing euthanasia. The Sanctuary is where highly active or reactive dogs can go and have plenty of space, other canine companions (if they are dog friendly) and live in a stress free environment until such time as the right adoption match can be found.
The Milo Sanctuary is what enables Milo to be a No-Kill organization. Milo brings dogs back and forth from the Adoption Center (MPR) to the Sanctuary to give dogs a break from the stresses of the kennel environment and back to MPR later to try again at being adopted. Potential adopters also do come up to the Sanctuary to adopt, by appointment.
