More about this rescue

Our mission

Our mission is to provide safe loving, rehabilitation and sanctuary to pets who become homeless due to abandonment, abuse, neglect or surrender, until they find their forever homes. To educate the community on spay/neuter/microchipping and the importance of understanding the emotional needs of animals.

How it all started

After 9/11 our troops were quickly deployed with many having to leave their pets behind. The significance of this is that Fallbrook is situated on the east side of U.S. Marine Corps. Camp Pendleton.

Janet LuCore, FAS Founder, saw the immediate need to have a safe place for these pets and took action; she opened her door and her heart and Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary was born.

Because of FAS, nearly 5,000 pets have been re-homed. Because of FAS, many pets have been re-united with their families. And because of FAS, any animals that come to Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary will ALWAYS have a loving home because of our No-Kill policy. Until the right family comes along, these pets will be loved and cared for by the compassionate volunteers and fosters.
