Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello everyone. Meet Ruger!
He’s a Husky mix (I’m assuming with a German Shepherd). I’m looking for a loving home for this beautiful guy. I’m currently fostering him until I leave mid May and training him as much as I can till then. He’s been at a LA City shelter since September 2023 but acts like he’s been living at home his entire life.
He’s the kindest most gentle, well mannered Husky I’ve ever met. He’s 3 years old (estimated), incredibly well trained on leash, very smart and is an extremely fast learner. He’s also very well mannered when meeting new dogs and greets them politely. That said, slow and proper introductions of all dogs to each other is a must!
Ruger knows his sit and paw commands and his recall is rather impressive (most of the time). When walking on left side, his heel command is pretty spot on. He will sit when stopped and matches your speed while running. Currently working on “stay” and training “ok” as his release when leaving gates or doors.
He will sit and stay very well when feeding and will come to his food when given "ok".
He’s very quiet and hardly ever makes a sound or barks unless he's frustrated and wants your attention or cuddles, then he will speak to you softly. He also doesn't bark when people knock or when the doorbell rings and politely greets new people. He's very gentle when taking treats and absolutely loves his cuddles and face/nose kisses when he’s lying down.
At times, he thinks he's a cat because he loves to get in my lap and fall asleep.
He loves being groomed (always a plus for a Husky!) and often falls asleep which makes thoroughly grooming him VERY easy. He's not the most high energy husky by any means and is rather calm 90% of the time but will match other dogs' energy for play if needed! He's just an all around good boy and I'd love to see him find a good home and not return to the shelter when I leave.
If you are interested or have any questions please feel free to call or text me at (808) 500-2551. My name is Christian and I'd love to have a conversation about him.
