Adores belly rubs! What a goofy little guy!
Charlie was an absolute mess when we picked him up. He was severely emaciated/malnourished. He is so healthy and now packing on weight like a pro.
Age: Estimating his age around 3 months as of 4/26
Breed: Definitely looks and acts like a German Shepherd. Possibly mixed with lab/golden retriever or other breeds.
Size: He is 25 to 30 lbs. He's gonna be a big boy.
Treatments Done: Dewormed, flea/tick/lice treatment, 1st vaccine 5/1.
Pending: Will need rabies vaccine at 4 months old and neutered @ 4-6 months old
Adoption fee $30 to help cover current costs of care.
Neuter deposit of $30 is required since he is not yet neutered. This deposit is returned back to the adopter upon proof of sterilization.
Social: Great with cats and dogs! He'll probably love kids.
Training: He is a smart cookie! He catches on so quickly! He is doing amazingly with indoor kennel and potty training! He has attempted to dig out of the outdoor kennel when he's alone, so he will need further training and supervision. His new family must have a secured living area that he cannot escape. That said, around human and other dog companion(s), he has no interest in digging out of the main property.
Human bonding: As expected with most unwanted pups we foster, he also wants to physically be with his family members. His new family must build his confidence to reassure him that he is loved and wanted. He is a velcro puppy, follows us around everywhere, and wants to be at our sides. His new family MUST understand this. His likely breed background suggests that he is not the kind of dog that wants to do his own thing separate from his family. No family is considered who intends to put/leave him outside alone.
Vocalization: He is mild to moderately communicative. Not an excessive barker.
Charlie is going to be an awesome new member to a lucky family! He is such a lovebug and deserves a family that will complete his rags-to-riches story.
