I’m Gander, a beautiful white and tan terrier looking for stability and a new start in a forever home.
I started my life as a Christmas gift but wasn’t wanted, so I lived in a crate in the garage. I was eventually surrendered to the Humane Society of York County, still a growing puppy, with a lot of untamed energy. My estimated birth date is January 2021 and I'm a medium-size boy, about 45 pounds.
I was adopted, but then returned to the rescue again because of a medical issue with my owner.
My friends at HYSC have done wonders for me with positive-reinforcement training that I had lacked in my previous homes. They’ve helped me tame my young-pup energy and build confidence in myself.
I’ve learned so many skills, like sit, down and wait. I’m also working hard on loose-leash walking.
I’ve had weekend sleepovers with my favorite HSYC volunteer and have shown that I do well in a home when I’m away from the stress of the shelter. I go outside to do my business, I’m a great car rider and I’ve been great with children, too.
I enjoy playing with other doggie friends, and I like toys, hikes and a chance to play in water. I’ve had so much fun on hikes along the Riverwalk.
I love cuddles from my human friends, and am quite the love bug.
I need a forever home where I can continue my training and enjoy stability that I’ve never had. I’m a happy, loving boy and want a home to settle in!If you wish to meet me, please call the Humane Society of York County at (803)-802-0902 to schedule an appointment.
