Benny is a handsome one-year old male Pit Bull Terrier mix who was brought to the HSOV on April 24, 2024 by a Good Samaritan who found him on Washington Boulevard in Belpre Ohio. Benny was wearing a harness/collar but, unfortunately, there was neither an id tag nor a dog tag to enable us to locate his owner .. And he was not microchipped.
Benny has a snow white short smooth coat, a long tail, and a beautiful face with pale brown eyes, a large patch of brown on the right-hand side of his face, a liver-colored nose on his cute chubby muzzle. and brown/white spotted semi-erect ears.
This young man has a happy, outgoing personality and adored attention from HSOV Volunteer Tracy Lynn when she spent time with him for outdoor photos late in the afternoon of April 25th. Benny quickly obeyed the 'sit command' when Tracy asked him to sit, and he stopped to smell the flowers (dandelions which had gone to seed) (smile).
Benny weighs 42 lbs and is quite energetic/strong on a leash for his size. Benny has not been neutered.
In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Benny will be held for three days so that his family will have an opportunity to reclaim him with proof of ownership.
Update: Benny went home with a foster family on July 24, 2024 who planned to adopt him after he was neutered.
Benny was returned on August 28, 2024 because he was busting out of his crate and getting into mischief ... So he is looking for the perfect home with someone who can help him with a little extra training and assist him to becoming 'the best boy ever'.
Benny was neutered on September 3, 2024 and was also given rabies vaccine.
