Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Baby Girl was found as a stray a few months ago and was never claimed. She was originally supposed to go to another rescue (who mostly rescue cats) but that never materialized because they never were able to bring her into their group and her foster asked if we could find her a home. Baby Girl was initially thought to be spayed and an older girl but she ended up having puppies (which will be listed also once fully vetted). She was a very protective mother and being a chihuahua mix, she does have a tendency to be snippy with people she doesn't know or who make her grumpy (like small children). Once she feels comfortable and safe, she enjoys cuddling and is really a couch potato according to her foster family. She's not overly active but will get into short bouts of playfulness. However she prefers the comfort of the couch or the quiet, peaceful space of her crate. Baby Girl gets along with other dogs but seems to do better with male dogs over the females. She gets along with cats but if the run, she will chase but has never been aggressive or tried to harm the feline persuasion. She would do best with older children who won't poke, prod or pull at her or startle her and who would give her the time and space she needs to adjust to her new home and environment without forcing themselves upon her. We do not recommend small children for Baby Girl. Baby Girl is leash trained and enjoys riding so she would make a great traveling companion. She weighs 15.8 pounds as of 4/24/24 and is full grown. We do not really know how old she is but vet feels that she is probably on the younger side (under 3 years old) so she has many great years ahead of her. She hopes that the family who adopts her will be her forever family as she has had some disappointments so far in her life and is looking forward to a more positive future.
Baby Girl saw the vet on 4/24/24 and was found to have no issues on her exam. Baby Girl tested negative on her heartworm test and has been started on heartworm prevention and flea control. Baby Girl tested positive for hookworms on her fecal so she was given a Drontal to treat. Overall, she's a healthy girl ready to start her new life!
If interested in giving Baby Girl her forever home, please submit your interest and your adoption application via email or text ONLY to 352-215-3260 (phone calls will not be answered or returned from this number). Baby Girl's adoption fee will be $200 to help cover the cost of her vetting and daily care while with us. We will only consider applicants who complete the adoption application and will determine whether the applicant would be a good fit for Baby Girl based on the info provided in the application. If we feel that you will be a good match for her, we will set up a meet and greet appointment with you.
