HISTORY:
Wilbur was found as a stray

ABOUT:
Meet Wilbur, a gentle soul with a playful spirit, despite his health challenges. At two years old, Wilbur has already captured the hearts of those who meet him with his sweet and mellow demeanor. While he faces the realities of being both FIV+ and FELV+, Wilbur's love for life shines through in his love for play, particularly with wand toys and toy mice. His playful antics are a testament to his resilient spirit, reminding us all to cherish each moment and find joy in the simplest of pleasures.
Wilbur's affectionate nature extends beyond playtime, as he enjoys lounging on his cat tree and soaking up the sunshine. His calm and friendly demeanor make him a delightful companion for anyone seeking a feline friend to share quiet moments and cozy cuddles. While Wilbur is still learning to navigate the company of dogs, his gentle disposition suggests that he would adapt well to a canine companion with patience and understanding.
Despite his diagnosis, Wilbur's capacity for love knows no bounds. He would likely thrive in a home with other FELV+ cats, as he craves the companionship of those who understand his unique circumstances. With the right environment and supportive family, Wilbur is poised to blossom into a beloved member of the household, bringing warmth, comfort, and endless love to those fortunate enough to welcome him into their lives.

More about this rescue

Lulu’s Locker Rescue is a nonprofit, volunteer-run companion animal rescue working to bring to light the plight of black cats and dogs in shelters as well as the misconceptions surrounding FIV cats. We aim to lower the euthanasia rate of these animals by educating the public and providing foster care as we seek out permanent homes. We are committed to the protection of the misjudged and wrongly stereotyped through compassion and respect, which we believe both animals and human beings deserve.

We are based out of Frankfort, IL, and rescue cats and dogs in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.
