Burton is a puppies-puppy. Although he is aged at around 2 years old, he seems to be a late bloomer. He is fun loving, care free and loving of all creatures. He is excited by life and every moment is an adventure. His enthusiasm is contagious. He came in at only 48 lbs, and after enjoying his stay with the lovely staff and volunteers, he's up to a perfect 62 lbs.
He walks up the kennel row stopping at every kennel to say hello in the most polite way: 🐾🐾🐾🐾 "Hello, they call me Burrrrrton. They say I'm a member of the Skellington club. Watz ur call sign?"
Mr Burton is house trained and gets anxious to get outside to potty. He knows "sit". And is very engaging on the walks with his hooman friends. He is neat in his kennel and enjoys his accommodations. He seems to want to be around people and dogs all the time. He might be a good candidate to be your dog's bff sibling. A meet and greet would be necessary to determine if his energy would be compatible with your dog. Because he is still in puppy mode, he will need training to channel his excitement. He wants to please his hooman, so training with treats should be a breeze.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Walks well with volunteers ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sweet bubbly personality ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Housetrained ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Compatible with other animals ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Trainable Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 68.2 Age: 2yrs 9mths 0wks

More about this shelter
The Humane Society of Wicomico County was started in 1968 by a group of people who wanted to help improve the lives of animals. We have come a long way in our 40+ years! We have a staff dedicated to making sure the animals that come to our doors are loved and protected as they wait for their forever home. Not only are our animals vaccinated, wormed and given flea preventative, we can treat animals that come to us with mange, ringworm, heartworm and pay for animals to be seen by an outside vet should there be a need. We have an on-site spay/neuter clinic that not only is used for our animals but we also offer low cost spay/neuter for animals of the public. We provide emergency boarding for victims of domestic abuse, fire, and medical emergencies. We also have the capability to set up an off-site emergency shelter for people evacuated from their homes. In addition, we have an education program to help teach kids about being a responsible pet guardian. We work with a wide range of rescue groups and our animals have been transported from our mid-Atlantic area throughout the North Eastern United States. Our shelter is an open admission shelter and we will take in approximately 3500 animals this year. We do what we do because of our love for animals and our desire to make a difference in their lives every single day.
