Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jovi was surrendered to the shelter when her owner moved and couldn't take her with her. She has always been an outside dog, so she has not been housetrained. However, she keeps her kennel clean. She is good with other dogs and tolerates cats well. She does resource guard her food, so she would need to be the only dog in the home, or fed separately. Also, children should not be left around her when she is eating. She has been around kids and did well with them, as long as there is no food involved. She's playful, likes chewy toys and belly rubs. Jovi walks great on a leash and knows some commands. Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: White Weight: 41.4 Age: 5yrs 7mths 3wks

More about this shelter
Dogwood Animal Shelter is a non-profit, no-kill shelter.
Since its infancy, compassionate, like-minded volunteers have been the driving force behind Dogwood Animal Shelter. Through auctions and sales, a handful of dedicated people raised enough money to build its first, albeit small facility and was established as a 501(c) 3 in 1976. It was filled beyond capacity almost immediately.
The shelter is funded entirely from donations and proceeds from their Dogwood Animal Shelter Thrift Store.
After years of saving, planning and busting at the seams with fur-babies, in 2005 it was time to build a new facility with their own in-house clinic! Under the direction of Dr. John Reinhold and coupled with a very dedicated and gifted team of Veterinarians and staff, Dogwood Animal Shelter continues to offer low cost spays and neuters to the public as well as services to their shelter buddies; services to approximately 2,000 dogs and cats yearly!
Dogwood Animal Shelter began their journey of being a successful no-kill shelter in 1997, and since then has saved over 40,000 lives!
