When Lola came into the rescue, she was a hefty 12 lb chihuahua. Her former owner became ill and could no longer care for her. She is spayed, current on vaccines, and preventions.
Lola is looking for a foster/adopter who is committed to helping her lose weight and getting her socialized. Ideally, this would involve hand feeding so that she can start to build a bond with her foster/adopter.
Since coming into rescue, she has lost some weight and is becoming more active. We have learned that Lola will play with your feet and that she is a huge fan of pizza crust. She loves her doggy bed, too! She is pee pad trained and goes to the door to poop - but won’t go outside - and prefers to use the peepad. This girl is slow to warm up but does want to be loved. She likes attention and even talks back when talked to. She is head shy, so if you go towards her with your hand, she lets you know that she does not like that and will use her teeth. It will take a special foster/adopter who is willing to work through this issue with her. An ideal home for her would be an adult only home. She is dog friendly.
