My story

If Ceelie wrote aa autobiography, it would be called, `When Bad Things Happen to Good Dogs.` She was a beloved family pet for her entire life, and all at once she found herself at the shelter when her family had a change of circumstances and could no longer care for her. Ceelie`s been at the shelter since April. She`s been a shelter ambassador at different events, and she did great. She rides nicely in car and loves walks and adventures. She`s about fifty pounds and four years old - the perfect age and size! Because she can be a little shy at first, she would do best with older kids - in fact, she lived with a ten-year old. Meet this very deserving dog for yourself and see what a special girl she is!

Before a visit, you must have a completed and approved application

Meet the Pet

If you decide on the pet you meet, they will be put in for a pre-adoption vet check. It can take up to a week for your pet to come home.

So you’re ready to add a family member to your home! Well you’re at the right place! To begin, you can view our animals available for adoption online, but there’s nothing like the real thing. We welcome you to come to our shelter and spend some time getting to know our animals in person.

To start off, please review the adoption guidelines below to speed up the adoption process:

1. Applicants must be at least 21 years old.

2. All adoption applications must be filled out completely.

3. An adoption application must be completed before any animal can be taken out for a visit. No animal will be taken out for a visit prior to this time.

4. You will need picture ID, with name and current address, to photo copy onto your application.

5. Any animal on a HOLD cannot be taken out for a visit until its holding time is up and it is available for adoption.

6. All dogs MUST be licensed with your Town prior to leaving the CNYSPCA, ask adoption counselor for further details.
