My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

(02/26/2022) Franky is the sweetest boy EVER!!  Franky really loves his humans = a bit of a velcro pup for sure!
Franky has the best smile and his eyes squint in the sun...it's adorable.

Frankly absolutely loves being outside in the fenced back yard. He would really, really love one in his fur-ever home. He looks forward to being outside numerous times throughout the day on leash (front yard, brief walks) and off leash (fenced backyard). He loves exploring, running, sunning and playing in the backyard, especially when one of his doggie friends join him. He is also happy just laying around outside and taking a bit of a sun bath. He hasn't mastered walking on a leash, so a family that has some members that are patient and can handle a strong pup on leash until he learns this and it becomes a routine for him.

Franky loves food related enrichment!! Any kind of enrichment toy that involves food is his favorite (kongs, lick mats, bento treat balls, etc.). He will occasionally chew on nylabones and that kind of thing. He also loves chew toys. Franky is food/treat motivated, so a very good way to continue fun training activities with him. He's easily redirected and eager to please is humans.

Franky is already crate and house trained. "I’ve never met a better crate trained dog." Franky is happy to go night-night in his crate and be snuggled up and happy until the morning.

So far, it seems like Frankly likes submissive dogs about his size. How the other dog reacts to him usually dictates the outcome. That being said, he is definitely interested in being social with our other dogs. They just need the proper introduction. So he could be in a home with other dogs or as an only dog with humans that would love and dote on him. Franky doesn’t have to have children in the home, but if there are then they should be sturdy and/or older because of his energy level. Plus, he still a little nippy and mouthy.

He does have some anxiety and is currently on Trazadone and he is perfectly fine.

As part of Franky's $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Franky, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

1. Review the description of the pet you are interested in to make sure that the information we have fits with your particular needs and desires. In most cases, the information on the website is current and gives the information that we have about the particular pet. The picture of the pet does not tell the whole story.

2. Complete the adoption application at https://pawsforlifenc.org. Please make sure that you give us as much information about yourself as you can. List all animals currently living with you including other dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and rodents. The application needs to be complete in order to help us determine if the pet you have chosen is a good match for your home.

3. Once the application is submitted we will contact you, your references, and your vet.

4. We require a home visit prior to dog adoptions.

5. If more than one person applies, we will go with the BEST fit. If all things are equal, we go in the order the applications were received.

6. Once the home visit has been completed, you will be asked to complete an adoption agreement.

7. The adoption fee is $325 for dogs under 6 months, $300 for 6 months and older. The adoption fee is $125 for kittens under 1 year ($225 for 2 kittens), $85 for cats 1 year and older. This fee helps us to provide the necessary medical care and other needs for the pets while in foster care.

8. All Paws For Life NC pets are spayed or neutered if old enough, current on shots, micro chipped, and to our knowledge, in good health before they are adopted out. Puppies under 6 months of age will require a $100 refundable spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee and a special puppy spay/neuter agreement. Kittens under 6 months will require a $50 refundable spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee. We are all volunteers and receive no monetary compensation for our work with the pets. The adoption fee is used to help defray costs in the rescue and care of the pets.

9. Congratulations! You are on your way to having your new companion. We hope that you and your new companion share a life of love and happiness. We welcome any comments you may wish to give us about your pet at any time.
