Meet Butterscotch! I’ve been at Ahimsa since 2022 when I was found dumped in an opened cat carrier outside along with 6 other cats. When I arrived I was skinny, scared, and all my hair was patchy and falling out. I am suspected of having an autoimmune disorder, but I am FeLV negative. Luckily, I recovered quickly, put on weight, and all my hair even grew back!

I am the sweetest girl who loves humans and attention! I’m the biggest cuddle-bug and I will climb all over you for pets and kisses.

My favorite thing is snuggles but my second favorite is definitely toys. I love chasing them around the room and will play all by myself!

Butterscotch would do best in a home where she will get lots of love and attention! She is friendly with other cats but likes humans more, and has not yet been around young children or a dog.

More about this rescue

Ahimsa Safe Haven is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit located in Onsted, MI. We are a forever home to cats with feline leukemia, abandoned small farm animals and aquatic life. We also rescue and rehome kittens. What does Ahimsa mean? Essentially, at the most basic level, ahimsa is the concept that we are all connected, and any harm done to others is harm done to oneself. We are unique because we rescue small farm animals from cruelty and slaughter situations. We also provide a forever home to cats with Feline Leukemia, that would have otherwise been euthanized just because they tested positive. We are big in adopting out rescued cats and kittens. We also rescue aquatic life that have been completely abandoned. With all of the lives we save, we use their stories to help educate and connect the world into thinking differently. Ahimsa is a rescue that the community can come experience, interact and connect with all kinds of animals that would otherwise have been sacrificed to feed them.
