My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pistachio, goes by Pete, is an adorable guy who has overcome so much already! When he first arrived to SAAP, he was missing all the fur on his lower end due to fleas and neglect. Since arriving in his foster home, he has learned what the good life is! He does occasionally have some skin issues that flare up, but they don’t occur often (likely allergies).

Pistachio hasn’t been around cats but is great with dogs and kids! He loves to snuggle and be petted! He is a ‘Velcro’ dog and prefers to be with you, as when he isn’t, he can become anxious. He is house trained and specifically used to using a doggy door in his foster home to let himself out to potty. He loves to sleep in the bed with you or even your kids, and is also fine sleeping on the floor.

You are required to sign a legally binding contact on your new pet. As part of that contract, should you no longer be able to keep the animal for any reason, the animal MUST be surrendered back to SAAP. This is to ensure the animal is placed back in foster care while we secure a new approved home for the animal. However, we always try to ensure that the initial placement is best for the pet and your family. We reserve the right to refuse any adoption.

We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 non profit organization. We are dedicated to the rescue of animals that are in need of a forever home. Our animals are fostered in homes where we provide love, food, medical care and socialization until adoption into a new loving home. We educate on the importance of spaying and neutering of all pets.

We ensure all animals have been spayed or neutered prior to adoption. They are micro-chipped, up to date on shots and on heartworm and anti-flea medications (as age appropriate). They are ready and waiting to start their new life with their fur-ever family. Could that be you?
