My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

- RETIRING HOUSE PANTHER SEEKS HOME -
Empress is a 10-year-old beauty with a glossy black coat and a shy demeanor that melts away with time. In a new home, she blossoms, enjoying head and chin scritches and playtime with toys. Treats and gentle scratches are her favorites, and she politely signals when she’s had enough attention with a light tap of her paw. She's cautious around new people and animals, needing a calm environment to thrive. Empress hides from children under the bed until they depart. Recently diagnosed with osteoarthritis, she will benefit from medication to manage any discomfort. Despite her challenges, Empress has a loving heart and is looking for a patient family to share her golden years with. Could your home be her purr-fect match?

If you are interested in adopting from the City of Georgetown Animal Shelter, please fill out an application at https://records.georgetown.org/Forms/AdoptApp . Approved applicants will be contacted to schedule an appointment to meet available dogs and cats. Please contact the shelter with any additional questions

The application/screening process for potential adopters usually takes about 24 hours except when it falls over a weekend or holiday, and then it may take two or three days. We ask that potential adopters please be patient with us; we are only trying our best to ensure that the homeless pets in our care get the best possible home. All cats and dogs adopted from our shelter are spayed or neutered (as Texas law mandates).

Our adoption fee is currently $70 for non-residents and $75 for residents*.

The adoption fee includes:

spaying/neutering
vaccinations (appropriate to species and age)
heartworm or feline leukemia test (appropriate to species and age)
de-worming medication
microchip (a tiny ID tag inserted under the skin, which allows your pet to be returned to you quickly)

There is a $5 Pet License fee added to the adoption fee if the adopter lives inside the City Limits of Georgetown.

Please visit our website for more information on how to adopt, special events, adoption application, educational and volunteer information.
