My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pepper is a black and white American short hair cat who loves to sunbathe, get head scratches, bird watch, and eat treats. She is 5.5 years old and was born in Memphis, TN. When she is comfortable in her space, she can be a very calm cat that takes to napping in her bed (or any soft surface).
She really is a beautiful, sassy, fun kitty, but is not happy in our home. We really believe she can be a great, loving pet to the right family!
Pepper struggles with some aggression when she thinks a situation is scary, so making sure she feels really safe is helpful. She has had a hard time behaviorally with our dogs and does not fare well with children, which our family is expecting soon. In a calm home where she can have her own space, Pepper would be a good fit and would soon become playful (she loves toys with strings!) and enjoy curling up on your legs at bed time.
She could also stand to lose some weight, as she is really food motivated and loves her dinner!
