My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pappadum was pulled from a feral colony that was under threat. He was presumed to be feral and a barn placement was sought, but Pappadum had other plans! It was clear that he had been in a home before, although it had probably been a long time ago.

He was immediately skilled in litter box usage and quickly warmed up to receiving pets. He loves to run and play, and is quickly learning the ropes from his foster brothers and sisters. He's still learning how to get along with them but does enjoy the company of his feline friends.

He would do very well with a warm and friendly cat as a companion family member, but could also be your only cat. He is so grateful to be rescued and rewards you with head rubs and air biscuits.

He has come a long way to becoming a pet again. Can you help him finish his journey?

We appreciate you + we love our animals. Please be patient as this may take a few business days to check all personal + vet references.

Meet the Pet

We are a 100% foster-based organization so a day/time is coordinated with our amazing foster to meet the animal that caught your eye.

Sign Adoption Contract

Our contracts are digital + sent from our software database.

Pay Fee

We have several options for you to help us continue our work in matching animals with their forever family units.

At this time, Familiar Hearts Animal Society meetings are by appointment only.

We currently rely on our amazing web of generous fosters throughout the Philadelphia area and will do our best to make a meeting as convenient as possible for both human + animal.

Meetings will need to be coordinated through the foster of the animal you are interested in meeting.

Our Vision: Our mission is two-fold; we want to help abandoned pets and we want to help stop pet abandonment.

We operate using a network of kind hearted hands to help find homeless animals veterinary and behavior care and then match them with appropriate forever homes. We also strive to educate pet owners about resources they might utilize in order to best understand how to provide for their friends with furry paws, feathers or claws. We always do our best to help.
