Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hey there, pals! My name's Ashley, and I'm here to share my story and hope you can find some space in your home and heart to help me! I need a FOSTER or an ADOPTER by 4/26 to make it to Wisconsin!
I’m a sweet hound dog with ears as floppy as a pair of well-loved socks and a heart as gentle as a summer breeze.
So, let me fill you in on a little secret—I'm what they call a porch doggie, not your typical hunting hound. Nah, I'm all about the chill vibes and cuddle sessions. Give me a cozy spot on the porch and some lovin', and I'm as happy as can be.
But life hasn't always been a walk in the park for me, friends. You see, I found myself in one of those scary kill shelters, and let me tell you, it’s no picnic. I reckon I ended up there because I didn't fit the mold of a huntin' dog. Can you believe it? All I ever wanted was to be loved and petted, not to chase critters through the woods.
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm a friendly gal. I get along just fine with other dogs, though I'm not much for rough-and-tumble play. And cats? Well, let's just say I've got a bit of a chase instinct being a houndie, so it's best if you’re a dog person and not a crazy lady!
But here's the scoop, folks: I'm ready to leave this shelter behind and hop on the bus to "Homeward Bound" up in Wisconsin. I just need a foster or adopter to give me a ticket to ride. So, if you're looking for a laid-back companion who's all about the snuggles and ear scratches, look no further 'cause I'm ready to steal your heart!
FEE INCLUDES: Adopting an adult dog (6 months or older) includes spaying/neutering, vaccinations, deworming, flea & tick prevention, heartworm testing, and microchipping.
For dogs under 6 months, they receive age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, flea/tick prevention, and microchipping. All dogs are spayed/neutered by 6 months, covered within the adoption fee. The procedure must be done at one of our partner clinics.
To begin the adoption process, please submit an application on our website: www.hbwi.org/adopt. Once approved, you'll have the opportunity to meet our available dogs. Following the meeting, you can initiate a 5-day Adoption Trial, allowing you to take the dog home. This trial period is designed to ensure the dog is a match for you and aligns with your lifestyle. After the 5-day trial, if all goes well, the adoption will be finalized. Additionally, we require a home visit once the dog is settled in its new home to ensure a smooth transition for both the dog and the adopter.
