Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet "Goldie" and her baby girl "Mira".
This sweet, lovely momma and her small tabby kitten Mira, short for miracle, were rescued from Turks and Caicos. Goldie is practically a kitten herself; she is 1 year and 4 months old and weighs 6 pounds.
She was a street cat in a tough neighborhood. Wild street dogs attacked her nest and ate three of her four kittens; Mira (our little miracle) alone survived. Mira has a distinctive elfin or "Spock" ear that is actually very cute and adds character (the result of a torn earlobe from the dog attack) and she's otherwise healthy and fine--although both mom and baby are very bonded from the trauma of the dog-attack experience. Given their experience, our goal is to KEEP THEM TOGETHER. Goldie is a bit shy, but very friendly and sweet--not feral--but very protective of her baby. She can be skittish at times, but then when her foster mom goes over to her slowly and picks her up, Goldie melts in her arms and wants to lay with her on the bed, purring while being petted... it may take patience to build trust, but she's getting there. Mira is absolutely adorable! Cuddly, sweet and playful. Born right around March 1st.
Both are very healthy. Goldie has her vaccinations and will be spayed before being adopted. Likewise, Mira is 4 months old and she had her first distemper shot and she has been dewormed. Both are available for adoption now.
In Goldie's and Mira's new home, children must be 6 years old or older.
A home WITHOUT dogs is a MUST given the traumatic experience they endured. Goldie does not trust dogs. She has, however, adapted easily to the foster’s other docile cats over the course of a week...so a house with other cats might work, but probably not rambunctious cats. Mira loves to play with the other cats, but Goldie is probably going to be partial to very chilled, docile or older cats who don’t invade her space.
