Mookie is a young, playful boy who would love to find an active home and a life full of adventures with his humans!! Prior to coming to the shelter, Mookie lived in his former home since he was just eight weeks old. He was housebroken, crate trained, and reportedly did great with other dogs and people. He was well- behaved when left home alone and was described by his people as playful, affectionate, and smart. Mookie loves peanut butter, applesauce, and ice in his water bowl in the summertime. He loves toys, knows tricks and has a silly side:
“Mookie likes to be hide behind the couch or under our dining table when it`s time to go in his crate, he lifts his head up over the couches to tease us, it`s quite hilarious!! But, with a treat he goes right in his crate.”
Mookie recently spent two months in a foster home where he did well with kids aged 10 and 12. He is a bouncy boy who may do best in a home without very small kiddos though! Mookie was playful with the resident dog and was again housebroken and crate trained. He loves treat puzzles and is highly food motivated.
Mookie’s foster family described him as sweet and snuggly. He showed that he can be a bit nervous when meeting new people, so needs slow introductions and a safe space of his own (like his crate) where he can spend time when needed. The foster’s home was a busy one, and Mookie may prefer a quieter environment.
“Mookie is a sweet young dog with lots of love to give. Mookie is house trained, crate trained, sits on command, and is learning other basic commands. He enjoys the company of our dog and our whole family. He`s a great dog that appreciates lots of attention but is learning to relax as well. His cute curly tail will wag for you once you`re his new best friend!”
Here’s what some of Mookie’s friends at the shelter have said:
“I was so excited to take Mookie out today as we have a blast in the play yard together. After zooming around and burning off some energy, this boy is a 100% snuggle bug. We sat on the ground together, him relaxed and belly-up. I love this boy.”
“Mookie is a playful youngster with lots of puppy energy. He’s a very playful guy who enjoyed chasing after a toy and then laying down and chewing on it. After several minutes of playing, Mookie settled down and solicited belly rubs and affection. I look forward to walking him again- he is very sweet and playful. Mookie just needs a patient family willing to work on some
