Here's what the humans have to say about me:
On April 4, 2024, we got a call from the Lancaster Animal Shelter that Animal Control just dropped off five newborn orphan siblings. We do not know their background, but with the eclipse coming on April 8, we are calling them the Eclipse Litter - Sol and Cosmo are male ginger tabbies. Astra is an uncommon female ginger tabby. Luna is a female tortoiseshell (Tortie). And our smallest kitten, Aura, is a female brown/gray tabby. These kittens will be old enough to go home about the 23rd of May.
They looked like they were about seven days old, all with weights under but approaching 200 grams. Three of the kittens had medical issues, which we immediately addressed and resolved within a few days. And now all five are healthy and strong.
All five kittens were enthusiastic bottle feeders, which helped their development tremendously. They are playful, and since the first thing they saw when they opened their eyes was me bottle feeding them, they are thoroughly imprinted on humans.
At three weeks of age, we put the Eclipse litter with Ginny, a lactating mom cat, and her three kittens. I continued to bottle feed them to make sure Ginny wasn’t overwhelmed with eight kittens, but now the five kittens were getting all the benefits of having a cat mom.
We strongly prefer that kittens, especially littermates, be adopted in pairs. Approved adopters who want to adopt two kittens get priority consideration during the adoption process. Two cats will keep each other company when you are at work or away, and they will burn off a lot of energy you don’t have to deal with. The adoption fee is $150 for one kitten and $225 for two. The fee covers FIV/FeLV testing, deworming, vaccinations, and spay/neuter with a partner clinic.
