My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Smokey, a dog whose spirit is as uplifting as a sunny day. His friendly demeanor is infectious, and his sweetness is like a gentle breeze on a warm afternoon. He loves to play, and his intelligence shines through in his quick learning and problem-solving skills. Smokey is an adult dog, but his playful nature will make you think he`s still a pup at heart. He`s the kind of dog who will make your house feel like a home, fill your days with laughter, and your nights with warmth. Smokey`s smart, sweet, and playful nature makes him the perfect addition to any family. He`s waiting for a forever home where he can share his love and joy. Adopt Smokey and let his sunny spirit light up your life.

More about this shelter

We are an open admissions shelter, meaning we take in homeless animals regardless of age, breed, health, temperament or lack of space. On average, we take in about 5,500 stray, surrendered and abandoned animals per year including dogs, cats, small mammals, birds and reptiles. We provide adoption services to find safe, happy homes for these pets; and also provide low-cost vaccination and microchip clinics to help safeguard them against illness or being lost forever.
