KNOX (white dog)
Male
Hound? mix
~10 years old
~50 lbs
Knox is a spunky, handsome fella with a pointer look and a hound howl! He’s very sweet to those he loves and really enjoys cuddling with his humans and just curling up on your bed. He’d really thrive in a home setting where his people are around often as he gets very attached and tends to vocalize if separated from you for too long.
Knox is leash trained and understands ‘sit’ at feeding time.
He lost his fur sister Maizy (brown dog) recently and is trying to figure out life without his best friend. They were VERY bonded as you can see. While Maizy was his favorite life partner, he can be very reactive to other dogs on walks, so we think a PET-FREE home where he could spend his golden years would likely be his preference.
He has had one incident with a person - years ago, an oil delivery man had opened the fence in the backyard after being told to wait until his owner could put the dogs inside, he didn’t follow the instructions, and Knox gave him a quick bite on the arm. This was the only incident he’s had in all his years.
Knox is vocal, and likes to let you know when someone has pulled into the driveway. His owner, who had to rehome Knox and his sister Maizy because she had to move in to care for her grandmother, told us she will miss his spunky personality.
Upon reintaking Knox and his sister, we had a great evaluation from a professional trainer that we would be happy to share with anyone interested in adopting this handsome, sweet senior boy.

More about this rescue
Survivor Tails Animal Rescue is a 501c3, non-profit, all-volunteer organization that exists to rescue, rehome, and rehabilitate homeless, unwanted, abused, and neglected dogs and cats and place them in loving and responsible forever homes. More than 4 million cats and dogs die each year in animal shelters across the country due to overpopulation issues. That's why we're here. Our mission is twofold: to find these unwanted animals loving homes of their own and to work with communities and like-minded organizations to stop the issue of overpopulation from the top. We don't want to just put a bandage on the issue, we want to prevent animal homelessness from the getgo.
