My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Copper is a wirehaired mixed breed (maybe Doodle, we aren't sure) pup with striking golden eyes. At about a year and a half, he arrived to rescue extremely undersocialized and fearful. With humans, this presented as frequent putting on the brakes and "pancaking." In his foster home, he quickly became more comfortable with the humans there and established routines and relationships of trust, but didn't progress much with other people. Copper was also very afraid of encounters with other dogs, and would lunge, growling, barking and generally work himself into a panic. We moved Copper into foster with a trainer and a well-balanced pack to help him learn how to "dog." With lots of exercise, structure, and opportunities for socialization and training, in less than a month he has been pushed out of his comfort zone and is showing increased confidence and even realized he loves playing with other dogs! Copper needs a calm, confident dog companion in his new home, and humans who are committed to helping him continue to explore the world and build confidence through patience, positive reinforcement, and routine. Copper is neutered, fully vaccinated, treated for parasites, heartworm tested negative, and microchipped with registration. His adoption fee is $350.

More about this rescue

Our goal is simple. We would like to enter the rescue community to serve as many animals as we are able. To have volunteers with the same motivation, who can independently work to save lives and find homes. To give an infrastructure to self-sufficient rescuers so that they can assist as they are able.

Most importantly, we want to help teach behavior that helps with permanent adoption. To save animals at any stage and prepare them for a life well lived. To impart the message that for them, life is better, and will only get better from here on out.
