My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Maleficent! I was pulled from the shelter, where I was scared and didn't trust humans. But the shelter staff helped me come around and now that I am in a foster home it is difficult to tell that I was ever a shy dog. I feel safer with women, but I like anyone who is willing to give me a treat. I am very treat motivated and that has worked well in helping me to be more social. I love having a companion dog around. I would do best in a dog with a larger male dog in the home. My adoption fee is $200 locally or I can be transported out of state for $550 ( includes health certiciate and travel fee) and includes all of the necessary vaccines, spay, and microchip. I am also undergoing treatment for heartworms, which is provided by the rescue. With an approved application, applicants are considered for the pet they have applied for. Our goal is to make the best match for both the adopting family and the pet. Applications are NOT considered on a first come first served basis. Following an initial meet and great, potential adopters must pass a home inspection and sleepovers are strongly encouraged to ensure a perfect fit. Upon approval, the adoptive family is required to pay a fee and sign an adoption agreement. Fees are $200 for a puppy under a year and $150 for adults and include spay/neuter, current vaccines, microchip and many wonderful years of companionship.
