Meet 1 1/2 year old Bambi!

She's sweet, affectionate, loyal, and playful. She can be timid when meeting new people and dogs at first but, once she's comfortable, she will be snoring up on your couch. She loves going for car rides, walks (she is usually walked at least 30 mins in the morning) and enjoys soaking up the sun. She can play with other dogs once she gets to know them. She knows sit and stay command and is potty trained. She likes getting pet, kisses and gentle tummy rubs, and can sit on your lap all day on the couch. She also enjoys playing fetch, tug-o-war, and loves to chase squirrels. She doesn’t like to be pet on her head by people she's just met, but after some no pressure interaction, and bribes with treats, she will warm up, become submissive, and roll over often for tummy rubs. Young, loud children aren't quite her cup of tea, so would do well in a calmer household.

More about this rescue

Located in Southern California, 1000 Orphans was formed as a 501c(3) organization to provide support to local and overseas organizations that are providing food, shelter, and medical care to abandoned and stray dogs. We also support the efforts of organizations that are focused on the task of effective and humane control of stray dog populations in Taiwan.
As part of these efforts, we find homes for some of these dogs that have been rescued from the streets of Taiwan so that they may finally have a family to call home, as well as to help in easing the overwhelming conditions at independent rescues there. We also help in homing local dogs, including addressing necessary medical needs, that have come to us either as stray or abandoned pets.
