Story:
Lily's journey from the streets to safety has been a testament to her resilience and the power of kindness. This striking bully mix, with her sadly cropped ears, was so frightened of humans that she had to be rescued using a humane trap. When she first arrived at the shelter, Lily was hesitant and did everything she could to avoid people. But with patience and respect for her space, she began to realize that humans could be a source of good things, like tasty treats.

The real breakthrough came when Lily was introduced to other dogs. She absolutely LOVES them and feels much more confident and inquisitive with canine companions by her side. They've helped her discover the joys of playing with toys, enjoying treats, and even lounging on a couch for the first time.

Despite her initial "scary appearance, Lily is truly a soft kitten on the inside. She's gentle, eager to learn how to be a dog, and doesn't have a mean bone in her body. Her adorable waddle and sweet nature are sure to brighten any home.

We are located at 1740 W. Gordon Street, Valdosta GA 31601. We are right down the road from Ellianos in Remerton. We invite you to come see our cats at our office, Monday through Friday, 9am to 2pm. Call 229-247-3266 to confirm.

More about this rescue

The HSVLC is a non-profit organization that only rescues animals based on available foster homes and funding. All of our dogs and some of our cats live in foster homes. Loving families have taken them in and are caring for them until they find their furrever home. We also house many of our cats at our office location. We have four cage free rooms dedicated to housing our resident cats. You can stop by our office during business hours to visit our residents or contact us in advance to schedule a visit with one of our fosters.
