Thor is a very handsome guy...a guess of his breeds would be husky, shepherd and black mouth cur but a DNA test would be the best way to know for sure. Whatever his mix, he is a gorgeous specimen of a dog with a beautiful coat of fur, curly tail and so healthy. He has good energy and loves to explore his surroundings. He can be calm and affectionate once he has gotten the exploring out of his system. I discovered how intelligent he is also; he already sits on command for a treat and within a few seconds, I had him "shaking his paw" with me! (Don't miss the video to see how smart he is!!). He also takes treats very gently. Thor is really interested in other dogs in a playful way through the fence but a meet and greet is always recommended if you have another pet in the home if you are considering to foster or adopt. This pup will thrive much better outside of the shelter setting and would love a big fenced yard to roam and explore in. Come and meet this handsome hunk for yourself.

We provide an adoption program, low-cost spay/neuter program, and low-cost vaccination and microchip clinics throughout the County. In 2018, we launched Shelby SafePet, which provides veterinary care and boarding to pets of domestic violence victims.
