My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UNO!, the perfect name for this #1 boy! This adult Heeler/Pyrenees mix has a playful, joyful energy befitting his name and his coy, submissive smile will melt your heart and make you laugh. He's a velcro dog, loves being by your side. During a recent outing Uno was on his best behavior, taking in the sights and sounds with curiosity and delight, and loving the attention. He dreams of a forever home, where he can share his zest for life and love.
* 4 yr old Male Red Heeler/Pyr mix, ~50 lbs, lovely freckled fur
* Dog friendly, loves people
* Seems potty trained, great walking partner
* Calm, sweet demeanor, takes treats gently
His winning personality will capture the hearts of his new family in no time (just ask staff and volunteers). Uno will brighten any home with his #1 personality, he is waiting to meet you!

More about this shelter

The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
