Afraid of nothing and unstoppable in the pursuit of cuddles, Count Christopher is the ultimate lover boy. He’s a building favorite in his foster home, because he adores any and all humans and isn’t afraid to show it. He loves playing and cuddling in equal measure, and definitely still has his youth (nicely balanced with the wisdom to understand boundaries). He thinks the Roomba is a toy, is obsessed with running water, and is very generous with his purrs. We could all learn to love unabashedly like he does!

This cat would prefer to be adopted alone and be the only cat in the home.

This cat is FIV+ and will live a normal healthy and long life when provided with quality care such as a balanced diet and yearly wellness exams (like any cat). As FIV+ is not transmittable between neutered/spayed cats under normal circumstances, we are happy for FIV+ cats to mingle with FIV- cats in their adoptive homes.

By appointment only. We offer to drive prospective adoptive prospects to the foster home. We also deliver pets to their new homes.

More about this rescue

Our rescue group was formed in December 2007, but all our Board Members have had extensive experience rescuing and working with abandoned animals. We often work with other rescue organizations to find appropriate and safe foster and adoptive homes for our pet clients. We regularly go to areas with abandoned animals and collect them. The animals are taken to a licensed veterinarian examined, treated and spayed or neutered. Every effort is made to work with the animal and our foster and adoptive families to find a suitable forever home.

For those animals who are truly wild and feral, we release the animal in a safe and secure location after it has recovered from its medical treatment. We also work with certified wildlife rehabilitators to rescue injured and orphaned wildlife. Our organization is focused on improving the welfare of the abandoned animals in need of help in Brooklyn. In furthering that goal, our resources are focused on the animals.

Aside from a few minimal overhead costs such as our website and phone services, our entire budget is spent on animal care such as medical and food costs.
