My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Did you know Pierre originally came to us in 2022? He has been adopted and returned twice because of his energy level and his rowdy play style with other dogs, and we are beyond determined to find his perfect adopter.

Pierre is loving and affectionate and wins over every person he meets. He loves butt scratches and belly rubs, and wants to be the center of attention. Pierre has a hyper play style and would do best with other playful dogs who want to wrestle.

Pierre seems very tolerant of children and gets along well with them, but he might be too energetic for small kiddos. Pierre loves car rides. He walks pretty well on a leash and enjoys going on adventures. If you are looking for a new best friend who wants to live his life to the fullest, consider Pierre!More information? More about this shelter

Marion Area Humane Society is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization incorporated in 1967 under ORC 1717. We strive to educate, assist and protect the animals of the Marion area. Since 1986 have operated a shelter to provide a humane environment for homeless animals. In 2011 several generous donors and grants made it possible for a shelter renovation and addition of a separate intake section. MAHS operates a open-admissions shelter with a guilt and fee free surrender policy, to encourage owners who can not properly care or maintain proper living conditions for their pets to do the best thing for the pet. MAHS also provides humane investigations and a spay/neuter voucher program for Marion county.
