For Adopt a Pet and the PEDIGREE® brand, October is all about finding homes for dogs in shelters. Adopt this month for a PEDIGREE® Wet Food Pouch and a chance to win a Homecoming-style photo shoot and shelter donation.
Update: Sadly, Escape was adopted, found as a stray but his adopters opted not to reclaim him. Thank goodness nothing happened to this very special boy when he was out on his own! Let's give Escape the attention and love he deserves and needs. Deaf Dogs really do rock!
Duckie, Flo, Dee, Dax and Escape were an unexpected litter, surrendered because the owners were unable to care for them. Escape is a special boy, thought to be hearing impaired, as well as protective of his food. This is sometimes due to having been pushed out at feeding time, which can happen with litters. Often it goes away once food is available and plentiful, instead of having to fight to eat. Escape has been around children, lived with children, and has done well with dogs and cats. Many puppies (like Escape) and dogs also respond well to hand signals, whether hearing impaired or not. It can actually save their lives and is not difficult to teach. Deaf Dogs Rock is one of many organizations which can help with information about training. Email staci@hsscg.org for an adoption application or more information. Escape is neutered, microchipped and started on core vaccines. If you have time for housebreaking, teething, training and lots of laughs, then this puppy is just what you need.
