Morty is a very shy girl who finds comfort in the company of other dogs. She absolutely adores canine companionship. Despite her shyness, Morty loves hugs once she trusts you. She is a gentle soul who needs a patient and understanding family willing to give her the time and love she needs to come out of her shell. Her best friend at the shelter got adopted, now she is quietly waiting her turn! Morty loves to play and give you the best doggy hugs you have ever had!

Fill out a Meet Your Match questionnaire, spend some time getting to know the pet you are considering taking home, and talk to an adoption counselor.
Each animal will leave the Center spayed or neutered, vaccinated, heartworm (dogs) or FeLV/FIV (cats) tested, de-wormed, treated for fleas/ticks, given heartworm preventative if applicable and microchipped.

McKamey Animal Center in Chattanooga, TN, first opened its doors to the city’s homeless pets in July 2008. A leader in animal welfare both locally and nationally, the nonprofit shelter’s mission is to enhance the lives of companion animals and people by encouraging a culture of responsibility and compassion. As an open admission facility, the Center provides animal services and care for any animal in the city of Chattanooga regardless of age, breed, health, and temperament. McKamey has a number of thriving programs to benefit companion animals and people including adoption, foster, rescue, trap-neuter-return for feral cats, and humane education.
