My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tobias is a BLIND neutered male Beagle/Basset Hound mix. He is about 2 years old. He is current on vaccinations.

His story thus far is a sad one ... he was one of a litter of 11 puppies born to an outdoor mother dog. His previous owner sold all the puppies, except for Tobias because the mother dog learned to hide Tobias whenever strangers came around. At some point, something happened to Tobias, and he was blinded. He had never been inside a house, and was left to run loose on the property. Recently, his previous owner backed over Tobias with a car and broke his pelvis. His owner could not afford the veterinary bills and refused to keep Tobias inside during his recovery period, so one of our volunteers who works at the vet clinic convinced him to turn Tobias over to ARF.

Tobias is now doing very well. His injuries have healed, and he is running around almost normally. He has adjusted very well to being inside a home -- he quickly learned where things are, and is even going up and down the stairs and jumping on and off the bed. He is not yet house-trained, but we are working on it.

Tobias needs a very special home with someone who is willing to work with him. He has had such a horrible life up to this point, he deserves a loving, wonderful home where he can be happy for the rest of his life.
