Hello there, I`m Squid! I`m a big boy with a playful spirit and a friendly heart. I love to chase after toys and run through tunnels. I just love to play in general! I love scratchers so much that the staff here gave me my very own cardboard scratcher. When I`m not playing, I`m usually lounging around in the sun or taking a quiet cat nap in my kennel.
While I may be a bit independent - I sure do love to spend time with my favorite humans. Entice me with some treats (my favorites are churu and temptations), and I`m your new best friend! I am also a catnip enthusiest, so make sure you have some on hand for me! Toys with catnip inside them? Even better!
I`m a very laid back cat who enjoys the simple things in life. If I trust you and enjoy your companionship, I`ll seek you out for love and attention. I believe that every home needs a touch of feline fun and I`m ready to bring that to yours! Adopt me and let`s make unforgettable memories together.

Cats over 6 months of age: $25
Puppies under 6 months of age: $200
Dogs over 6 months of age $50
Your generous donation to the South Suburban Humane Society allows us to carry on our mission of helping those animals who need us most.
Adoption donations include first shots, first worming, microchip, spay or neuter, complimentary vet visit with a partner vet clinic, a personalized name tag and a wonderful pet.

The South Suburban Humane Society is a 501(c )(3) organization that was started in 1970, serving the animal welfare needs of the entire south suburbs of Chicago. In the beginning, we handled all rescues, adoptions and provided foster care out of private homes. Since November 1973, our organization has been operating a 10,000 square foot open-door animal shelter in Chicago Heights, Illinois.
For over fifty years, our organization has helped tens of thousands of animals. We offer extensive outreach programs including humane education, and community outreach events. We also operate a resale shop located in Steger, Illinois that promotes our organization, our animals and provide much needed income to support our humane work.
