Billy is a super playful and cuddly dog who loves playing with toys, especially bouncy balls. He has a fluffy coat and enjoys the water - his signature move is jumping in the water and then rolling in wood chips or grass then going back in the water….on repeat. While playing fetch, Billy will bring the ball back to you and drop it in your lap, he’s wonderful at self entertaining!

He is very cuddly and loves to snuggle up with his humans. Billy is house-trained and knows basic commands. He would thrive in a home with a backyard where he can run and roll around. Billy has a medium energy level and would do well with a mix of play time and snuggle time.

Our shelter has more than 500 available cats and dogs every day!
For pets at the shelter: Adoptions must be completed in-person at the shelter. AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites.
For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.

Adoption Fees:
$80 cats & kittens up to 6 years old
$80 dogs 6 months to 6 years, 30 lbs and up
$100 dogs under 30 lbs and/or under 6 months
$30 small animals
No fee for senior pets 7 years and older

The Austin Animal Center is open for adoptions every day from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Please note, Adoption and Pet Resource Center lines close at 6:00 p.m. We're closed Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Thanksgiving Day to give our staff some time with family.
Interested adopters should come to the shelter during business hours to meet with a counselor start looking for a pet who'll be a good fit. Our counselors and volunteers are happy to help with that process.
