My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, I'm Fur Elise, a loyal, sweet, friendly, goofy, gentle, smart, and cuddly feline. I'm an adult cat with a heart full of love to give. My days are filled with exploring my surroundings, solving little puzzles, and enjoying gentle strokes from the kind staff here. I have a knack for making people laugh with my goofy antics, and I'm always ready for a cuddle session. I'm also quite smart, so I quickly learn new things. I'm the kind of cat who will stick by your side, offering you my unwavering loyalty and affection. Why should you adopt me? Because every home needs a bit of goofiness, a lot of love, and a loyal friend. I promise to be all that and more. I can't wait to meet you and start our journey together.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
