My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Reyna is a seven month old domestic short haired kitty that will not only steal the spotlight, but your heart as well. She was brought into us by someone off the waiting list and yes is partially blind in one eye. That doesn`t stop her quirkiness and her ability to thrive. She is litterbox trained and tends to keep her living area really clean, unless she knocks something over from playing too hard. She LOVES toys with catnip in them or that crinkle. Although she`s not picky because everything is a toy in her eyes if it gets you to play with her. Reyna can be cuddly, but like a typical kitten that doesn`t last long because she prefurs to play. In fact she`s so playful that when she gets excited she`ll do flips and jump off things like a spring board. The center of attention is her main objective in life and with a sweet face like hers how could you resist. Reyna`s adoption fee is $50 which includes her spay, up to date on all shots, deworming, flea treatment, nail trim, and a microchip.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

So you’ve met one of our cats or dogs whom you want to make part of your family? That’s great! What’s the next step?
First, you need to fill out an application. Applications are available on our “Applications/Forms” page, at our website: acarf.org. The application can be submitted online.
Although it helps to be the first person to file an application for a pet, this may not guarantee that you will actually be the chosen adopter. Our first concern must always be finding the best situation–for our adopters, and for our adoptable pets.
Once you have been approved to adopt an animal, we will make an appointment with our contracted veterinary care provider (Red Barn Veterinary Service) to have your pet spayed or neutered. Spaying/neutering our adopted animals is required by the State of Kansas. We also will microchip your pet. You will need to complete an adoption agreement form and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is posted at the shelter, and is subject to change. Paperwork and fee payment must be completed during our weekday hours of operation: Monday through Saturday, 11:30am to 5:00pm. Saturdays are for visiting and viewing only; no adoptions will be completed on those days, unless prior arrangements have been made. Special situations, such as adopters who live far away or are unable to leave work or school during weekday business hours, are dealt with on a case by case basis. We are excited that you are adopting from us, and want to make it as easy as possible!
Once your paperwork is completed, microchipping has occurred, and spaying/neutering is done, you can take your new pet home. Usually, you can pick up your pet the next day following surgery, either at the veterinarian’s office or at the shelter.
Some adopters choose to have their pet spayed/neutered with their regular veterinarian. If you do not use the services of our contracted vet and take your pet out unaltered, there will be a spay/neuter deposit of $125 (in addition to the adoption fee). The $125 deposit is refundable when you submit proof of spay/neuter, which must be done within 90 days. In this case, you would also be responsible for all spay/neuter charges. Some of our long-distance adopters find this option preferable to making two long trips.
