My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet, sweet Oriole is a lovable and confidently bossy little lady.

Like her brother Echo, Oriole loves to cuddle in her human's lap. When held, your body will become her throne: she will climb onto your shoulders and back and likes to be walked around the house so she can see things from a different view (a true queen!). She loves to eat and will let you know when she wants you to turn on the faucet so she can drink the cold water. She LOVES to be in the shower, tucked behind the shower curtain just enough so she doesn't get completely wet but hops in there as soon as she hears the shower turn on. She loves looking out the window and chasing bugs through the glass. She is the cleanest kitten around and bathes herself multiple times a day.

Oriole's energy changes throughout the day: from high in the morning and just before bed to medium around lunch time for afternoon zoomies and low in between those while she naps.

Oriole would love a home with windows to look out from and a human to cuddle with. She and Echo are both quite curious and they love to get cozy on the couch or bed for naps. She does great with both dogs and kids and is nailing litter box training.

Oriole is the perfect companion to help you run the household and keep things tidy. She is clear at communicating what she wants. She loves the play time she has with her brother and is the best sister.

More about this rescue

ALIVE Rescue is a sustainable animal rescue group committed to protecting the lives and rights of animals. We believe that every animal has the right to a well-balanced, socialized and fulfilled life. We take on the responsibility to save, rehabilitate and place abandoned, abused and stray animals. Our rescue permanently houses and cares for the animals that cannot be placed into forever homes for the duration of their natural lives. We provide medical, behavioral and physical support for animals despite their age, health, and/or breed. At ALIVE Rescue, we promote sustainable living and care-giving by building awareness, appreciation and respect for all animals and the environment within our communities. We constantly work to educate the public on current animal issues, including the benefits of spaying/neutering pets.

Since our formation in 2008, ALIVE Rescue has rescued more than 1,600 animals in the Chicago area.
