A little bit about Meeka: - no small kids, has lived with teenagers before - no cats or small animals (required) - no dogs (required)
Meet Meeka, the energetic and intelligent Border Collie looking for an active and loving home. Meeka was with us a few months ago and we thought we had found her the perfect home. Unfortunately, she was later abandoned outside another shelter before making her way back to us and we are determined to make the next home her furever home.
Despite her past, Meeka's spirit remains bright-especially when it comes to her favorite thing in the world: chasing balls! Ball is life for this girl, and she's got impressive skills in that department. Whether it's in the backyard or at the park, she's always up for a game of fetch. She's also got quite the number of hilarious quirks that have to be seen to be believed (including balancing on her front two paws to pee!)
Meeka isn't fond of other animals, so she needs a home with no small pets, cats, or dogs. While she's not dog-aggressive, she's an asocial dog who prefers her own company and playing ball over making dog friends. Meeka would do best in a home with adults or teenagers who have previous dog experience. If you're looking for a loyal, fun-loving partner who will bring endless energy and joy to your days, Meeka is the perfect match!

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.
Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.
Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.
Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.
Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.
Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
