Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sparky came to us with a broken front leg. Due to the location of the fracture
and the time it had been since his injury, repairing it via surgery would have been very difficult and possibly not successful.
Because of this, amputation was recommended...however the surgeon also mentioned just leaving it as-is since he was walking on it and it didn't
seem to affect his mobility. There is a good likelihood that he will develop arthritis at some point however. So his adopters would need to be
able to manage that if/when it happens.
Here is what his fostermom has to say about this cutie:
Sparky is a spunky, handsome, brown and white, estimated DOB 3/2023, 14-pound Shih Tzu who has the personality of a goofy teddy bear. He is a talkative guy and likes his opinions to be known. He has shown to be good with adults and children over 5. He gets along with other friendly dogs, but loves to pester the cats in his foster home. So a forever home without cats would suit him best. He’s doing great as far as potty training goes, but will need scheduled back yard potty breaks to get him into the routine in his new home. He came into the rescue with an injured left leg and it is possible he will need medical care in the future (all information will be given to potential adopters). Long walks are not really his thing, but he would love to stroll and sniff around his own fenced yard. Apartments would not be a good fit for him due to his talkative nature. ?
