Meet Khloe!

Khloe loves to cuddle and hang out with her selected doggy pals! She enjoys going on walks or just hanging out on the couch with her people so she should adjust well to most lifestyles. Khloe has your typical hound talkative personality but she knows when to settle down. She usually does a few barks to let you know when someone is around.

Khloe had a rough life before she landed safely here at the Ranch. From what we know she was passed around through a few irresponsible owners, was pregnant multiple times, most of her litters not surviving, and ultimately left to fend for herself while pregnant for her last time. A staff member knew her prior owners and told us about the hardships that she endured and thankfully we were able to get custody of her to keep her safe. Because of this rough history, Khloe can be slow to trust for some but for most people, she is friendly and outgoing. Could you be her final home to rest in?

Thank you for considering adopting a Rescue Ranch dog. While they are with us, each and every rescue dog receives the best of care in a loving and nurturing environment. Their routines include daily playgroups or partnering with dog buddies, quality time walking or being groomed, and two meals a day with dog biscuits for dessert.

All of our dogs receive the best in veterinary care and are spay/neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and fully vaccinated.

The standard adoption donation fee for all dogs and puppies is $300

You will first need to stop by our rescue and meet our dogs! If interested in one of our dogs you will need to fill out an application. We also do a home visit if in the area, to make sure you have a secure and a dog-friendly environment. If out of the Siskiyou county area we can easily make other arrangements. Our adoption donation is $195.00. We have a reduced rate for seniors, the disabled, and veterans. Our "Senior for Senior" program offers a further discount and can help with the cost of dog ownership. The adoption fee for puppies who grew up at the Ranch (or in foster here) includes spay/neutering when old enough and is $295.00. All of our dogs are up to date on shots, heart worm tested and any medical issue are treated. Every dog that is going to a new home must be spayed or neutered before they leave Rescue Ranch.

More about this rescue

Rescue Ranch is a small no kill shelter. We have kennels for 22 dogs. We primarily take in dogs from city and county shelters in Siskiyou County before the dogs are out of time due to space limitations. We also make 3-4 trips a year to county shelters in central California to save smaller dogs that can overwhelm shelter resources in those counties. We started about 18 years ago with 40 acres far outside Yreka and were able to help many dogs in the county due to the efforts of the founders and many volunteers. In August of 2009 our new facility opened. We are now about 2 miles outside of town on 10 acres. We have been steadily growing through the efforts of the committed staff, volunteers, and volunteer board members. In 2012 we had 80 adoptions, 2013 we had 105 adoptions and in 2014 we had 167 adoptions. This year in 2020, we are projecting to place over 500 dogs into happy homes! We operate solely on the generous donations from the public and our wonderful volunteers. We have added boarding to our facility and all proceeds from the boarding fees are used to help with our expenses so we can help more dogs find their forever homes.
